Bling Bunting!

I spent yesterday doing the usual household chores and in between I watched the Diamond Jubilee celebrations on the TV.
I thought I might get some inspiration for the card I wanted to make for this weeks challenge over at "Less is More"
The challenge is to use Red, White and Blue, but all I could picture was Grey! Lol.
Still in good old British tradition everyone seemed to enjoy the day regardless of the typical English weather. It was a glorious sunny day here in Cyprus but I still found myself wishing I had been in England for such a patriotic, once in a life time event.
As they say you can take the girl out of the East end but you can't take the East end out of the girl!

Here's what I came up with

I'm also entering this card to the CAS-ual Fridays
challenge:- PUT A BLING ON IT.

I used white card stock, punched two holes and threaded some red twine to hold my bunting which I downloaded from Ian Barnard Design. Added some red glitter. The sentiment was a freebie from birdscards that I played around with to change the colour and size.

Got time for tea?

It's 'Recipe' week over at "Less is More" and the challenge is to make a card which is not a square or a rectangle.
I have a friend who did me a big favour of taking my son to all his exams the last couple of weeks and I wanted to make her a card to say thank you and also to say we must get together for a cuppa and a chat. We are both busy working mums and never seem to have the time!

I drew my own cup shape cut it out and used it as a template to make the base shape on white card stock. Cut out another two cups and glued them to the front of the card. Punched some little flowers from some scrap yellow gingham and pink paper. Cut out a little tag a used rub on letters and numbers for the sentiment.

Christmas in May!

The challenge over a "Less is More" is to use yellow. I have played along for the last couple of weeks and I have to say I am really enjoying seeing and being inspired to try new things.

Although I have been making cards for quite some time I don't have a lot of crafting equipment. I have always wanted to get into stamping and colouring but lacked the funds to feed my desire! This is the only stamp I own apart from sentiments. The other thing I lack is pens! I played around all weekend with what I had and decided to treat myself. so I have ordered some Letraset Markers. Woo-hoo! Now to get some stamps!

Anyway I made the most of what I did have and although I didn't intend for this to be a Christmas Card when I started out it ended up as one!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has visited and left such kind comments. x

Six and Stamping!

Sharing a "sunny" little number with you today that I was asked to make for a six year old girl. Perfectly matching the sunny weather we are having today (rather windy though!).  I thought the little bag rather than an envelope could be reused to keep bits and pieces in.

This second card was my first attempt at stamping and colouring.

Wedding

This weeks challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays is to use flowers or trees on your card. I needed to make a wedding card so flowers were a must!

It's raining today but I'm not complaining as yesterday was so hot and muggy and it also saves having to water the garden! one less job on the list of things to do today!

Thanks for stopping by. x

Engagement

This is my first time playing along with "Less is more". We were given a choice from two sketches:-

I went with the square.
I needed to make an engagement card and the sketch was ideal for the job!
I was really pleased with the result. Less really is more!

It was a really hazy hot day today with a lot of red dust in the air so I didn't want to risk taking the card outside to photograph, not with all that white! So the kitchen windowsill had to do.

Thanks for stopping by! x

Mojo Monday 238

I wanted to make a card for a special little girl that I know, but was stuck for Ideas. When I saw the sketch this week for Mojo Monday the squares made me think puzzle pieces!

I Was so pleased with the result! Thank you Mojo Monday for the inspiration!

CAS-ual Fridays Sketch Challenge

My first time joining in with CAS-UAL FRIDAYS sketch challenge!
and here is what I came up with.

It was a joy to play along with this sketch challenge. If only everything in life was as clean and simple. Like getting your camera to take a decent photo! I must have taken fifteen or more and just couldn't get the lighting right. Would normally take a photo outside as my camera seems to work better in natural light but it was far to windy today! Any tips on taking indoor photos would be much appreciated!

 Thanks for stopping by. x

Just a splash of yellow!

This card was for a 25th Wedding Anniversary. I went with all white paper and still those butterflies and flowers, hand stitched the edges and added a sunny bow and flower. Loved how it turned out! definitely one of my favourites that I will repeat.

Pretty Simple!

Sharing a couple of cards I made last week. Kept them clean and simple. It's been a lovely sunny week and we have spent most days in the garden. I think it shows as I seem to be using butterflies and flowers a lot recently! X

My oh my how quick they grow!

I was asked by a friend to make a card for her beautiful daughters 18th birthday. I knew straight away that I wanted to do something bright and fun to reflect her personality. Really pleased with the result! hope she is to. x
